Morocco's mountains ranges are
the Atlas and the Rif chains. Above 1000 meters.
The third of the country's area is mountainous
and nearly a quarter of the population lives
there.
These superb mountains are wild and enchanting.
They offer a complete infinite variety of
relief and landscapes. In this rare and exotic
selting, an original pastoral society has
developed, remaining alive in a changing country.
Beyond the mountains lie the eastern steppes
of the south and the western sahara desert. |
Summer
time is for long, relaxed walking expeditions,
along the streambeds and high valleys ( High
& middle Atlas, the Rif and the Anti-Atlas.)
In winter it's
time for long distance, cross-country expeditions
on ski up in the airy stillness ( Middle Atlas,
high Atlas). Or walking in the Saghro &
Sirwa - " Pick and granite mountains
in the south " -
We arrange also exciting itineraries with
camel in the desert.( Zagor / Chgaga, Merzouga
/ Erg Chebbi, Laayoune / Oued Chbika )
When spring comes
the weather is ideal for mixed expeditions
on foot ( High & middle Atlas, the Rif
and the anti-Atlas) |

Rich
in vestige and testify a history that begins
with the Pheniciens. The chain of the Rif
is a superb Mediterranean site remained completely
wild. Cut up on its pouring maritime by buttresses
that dive to magpie until the sea and that
finish between circuses and beach. Of villages
of shepherds hung in a mountain all Mediterranean,
of stone villages, cultures in terrace, forests
of eucalyptus pines and sometimes of cedar
and the small secret beaches of the Mediterranean.
The mountain lets an impression of high relief
with difficulty penetrable. Valleys are there
very deep and often end in inaccessible throats;
tops are covered with forests of cedars, pines
and green oaks, relatively low altitude. The
Rifains, everywhere sedentary, cultivate,
on the minuscule fields or on the replat of
hills, tobacco, raising is only a resource
of balance. |
