Morocco's mountains ranges are the Atlas and the Rif chains. Above 1000 meters. The third of the country's area is mountainous and nearly a quarter of the population lives there.
These superb mountains are wild and enchanting. They offer a complete infinite variety of relief and landscapes. In this rare and exotic selting, an original pastoral society has developed, remaining alive in a changing country.
Beyond the mountains lie the eastern steppes of the south and the western sahara desert.
Summer time is for long, relaxed walking expeditions, along the streambeds and high valleys ( High & middle Atlas, the Rif and the Anti-Atlas.)
In winter it's time for long distance, cross-country expeditions on ski up in the airy stillness ( Middle Atlas, high Atlas). Or walking in the Saghro & Sirwa - " Pick and granite mountains in the south " -
We arrange also exciting itineraries with camel in the desert.( Zagor / Chgaga, Merzouga / Erg Chebbi, Laayoune / Oued Chbika )
When spring comes the weather is ideal for mixed expeditions on foot ( High & middle Atlas, the Rif and the anti-Atlas)
 
1-The high central Atlas :
» In brieve :
Left the more large and most massive of the Atlantic, most elevated chain as general otherwise, vast of the big mountainous wholes of Morocco. The H.C.A conceals the natural treasures and the unsuspected human treasures, it culminates to the Mgoun 4068 meters of altitude. The society of the Atlas is pure berber.
 
» Ambiance :
In the high central Atlas the climate evolves toward the continental type less even moderate by effects of the winds of the west sector (NNN to SSW). It can snow inclusively above of November to May of 1500 ms. The Mediterranean flora of general character associated to a typically Moroccan vegetation.

2-The high western Atlas / H.Atlas of Marrakech :

Particularly isolated and difficult of access. The (H.W.A) seduces by its arid trays surrounded of tops atteignants 3800m. Vast valleys shelter a Berber population especially living of the culture the long of a Oued, the high grazings are occupied by nomads that drive their herds of sheep and goats, they get settled the summer in altitude with their camels and their dark tents woven. In certain valleys, an abundant vegetation contrasts marvelously with the surrounding landscape chesseresse, forests seem green oak and cedar bordering, on big distances, pouring it North of the massif.

4-The anti-Atlas of Agadir : (Atlantic coastline) :

Parallel to the Atlantic beaches, the anti-Atlas of Agadir rises to meadows of 200m and propose landscapes surprising, ancient reliefs granitics vestiges.
 
» Ambiances :
The detail of the massif consists in these chaos of balls stacked, covered of an original vegetation. Cactuses, amandierses, pink laurels and palms.

5-The middle Atlas :
» In brieve :
To the north, the middle Atlas receives precipitations further. One finds a landscape therefore unexpected of forests of green oaks and cedars of the Atlas and astonishing geological formations: will lap up, combed damsels, so many lakes, cascades and sources, of which the famous forty sources of the Oum Rbia river, one of the big streams of Morocco. Greatly snow-covered the winter, it is a rich and wild mountain, sheltering a more numerous fauna that elsewhere and notably the deer of barbarism, the boar and an endemic monkey called pile of barbarism.

6-The Djbel Saghro :

The Saghro spreads the high Atlas, between valleys of the Dades, the Draa and the Ziz, whose waters are going to get lost in the Sahara all near.

Of the Sahara, rough and continental character. Nights are cold in winter, and the summer is burning. It rarely rains but with abundance and snow can episodically cover the highest tops.
 
» Ambiance :
the Saghro is all whole the territory of the famous tribe of Ait Atta, omnipresent in all the history of Morocco. The Ait Atta are semi-nomadic tribe that die the spring, leave the Saghro with herds and camels of packsaddles.

7-The Djbel Sirwa :
» In brieve :
Oriental extremity of the anti-Atlas, chain of link with the massif of the Toubkal. The Djbel Sirwa forms a small massif well differentiated to paces of ancient volcano even though its land reveals granites further that of basalte (summit 3305m).
 
» Ambiance :
The tortured dark rock ressautses, of desert pegs and lavas petrified with big grassy and in bloom extents to the spring, forming magnificent grazings that share the Berber of Ait Ouawzguite. These last let their traditional villages of piemont, their beautiful attics and their fields of saffron to occupy to the spring the Azibs (sheepfolds) scattered on alpages dominated by the strangely eroded reliefs.
 
» The climate :
Being more meadows of the Atlantic, this small massif to the cashed valleys is watered more, and it can have a lot of snow in summer, as well as of the big cold weathers.
* Better season: mi-October to mi-November.

8-The Rif mountain :
» In brieve :
Rich in vestige and testify a history that begins with the Pheniciens. The chain of the Rif is a superb Mediterranean site remained completely wild.
